On March 21, 2024, the Nicolaus Copernicus Academy had the honor to host a delegation from the Republic of China (Taiwan) led by Vice President-Elect, Her Excellency Bi-Khim Hsiao. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the ongoing cooperation between Poland and Taiwan aimed at supporting Ukrainian PhD students. The meeting was also an opportunity to exchange views and experiences on the situation of people affected by the war in Ukraine.

During the meeting, the Vice President-Elect had the opportunity to talk to six Ukrainian scholarship holders who received the opportunity to continue their research in Poland. The meeting was extremely moving and allowed for a deep understanding of the experiences of people affected by the Russian aggression.
