Prof. Grzegorz Górski and Italian politician Simona Baldassarre discussed cooperation at a meeting in Rome

On 17 May 2003, the coordinator of the expert department of the Nicolaus Copernicus Research Centre, Professor Grzegorz Górski, met the Italian politician Simona Baldassarre. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibilities of cooperation between the Copernicus Academy and the administration of the Lazio Region, which Simona Baldassarre currently represents as assessor responsible for culture and youth policy.

Professor Grzegorz Górski arrived in Rome as part of his working visit. His task is to establish contacts and develop scientific cooperation with institutions and experts from all over the world. The visit to Italy was an excellent opportunity to do so.

Professor Grzegorz Górski emphasised the importance of international cooperation in science and research. He pointed out that the Copernicus Academy consistently focuses on developing contacts with scientific institutions from different countries. During the meeting, topics from other areas such as education, culture and youth policy were also discussed. Simona Baldassarre expressed interest in the possibilities of exchanging educational programmes and cultural projects.

Professor Grzegorz Górski shared information with Simona Baldassarre about the successes and achievements of the Copernican Academy, and provided information on current activities carried out by the Academy’s expert faculty.

Both sides stressed the importance of scientific and political cooperation. This cooperation can be mutually beneficial, contributing to scientific, cultural and social progress. Both Professor Gorski and Simona Baldassarre expressed their hope for further meetings and concrete actions to implement their cooperation plans.

The meeting was an important step in building relationships and establishing cooperation between scientists and representatives of public administration. It gives hope for future projects and initiatives that will contribute to the development of science, culture and education in Poland and Italy.
