Nicolaus Copernicus Academy Ambassadors nomination program

The Academy awards titles which promote Polish science and culture abroad, disseminate knowledge about Polish history and national heritage worldwide, and it also encourage collaboration in the fields of culture, education, science, social and economic life.
The title of Ambassador of the Nicolaus Copernicus Academy may be awarded to:
  • a laureate of the Copernican Award;

  • a person who has been awarded the Nicolaus Copernicus Grant;

  • a ​​person who has made a special contribution to Polish science or has achievements in promoting Polish science and culture abroad and has knowledge about Polish history or national heritage in the world.

Ambassador Grants

After the General Assembly of the Nicolaus Copernicus Academy has given its opinion, the Ambassador may receive a grant for the implementation of projects dedicated to promoting Polish science, history and culture abroad. The grant may be awarded in an amount not exceeding PLN 500,000.
Candidates for the title of Ambassador of the Nicolaus Copernicus Academy may be nominated by the President of the Republic of Poland, the Minister of Education, the Minister responsible for foreign affairs, the chairman of each of the Chambers of the Academy, the Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School or the Director of the Academy’s Research Centre.
