On June 12, 2025, a delegation from the Nicolaus Copernicus Academy, led by Prof. Krzysztof M. Górski, visited the astronomical observatory in Padua, which is part of the National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF – Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica). The host was represented by Dr. Valeria Zanini. Discussions were held regarding directions for scientific cooperation between the two institutions. The meeting was also attended by the long-standing director of the Observatory and current member of the Nicolaus Copernicus Academy, the eminent Italian astronomer Prof. Gianfranco De Zotti.
Prof. Górski presented Prof. Ascheri with the poster exhibition “Nicolaus Copernicus – Pilgrimage to the Stars” and reprints of Copernicus’ works, “De revolutionibus orbium coelestium” and “Monete cudendae ratio.” These items will be permanently displayed in the museum section of the observatory.
