The NCA Attends the Flemish Community Day

June 2, 2026

On the 2nd of June, this year, the Nicolaus Copernicus Academy had the honour of participating in the celebrations of the Flemish Community Day on invitation of the General Representative of Flanders in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.

The celebratory event took place on Tuesday, 2 June, 2026, at the Belvedere restaurant in Warsaw. The beautiful gardens of Warsaw’s Łazienki Park together with the elegance of the establishment constituted a painterly background to the meeting of diplomats and representatives from the world of business, academia, and beyond, which remain in day-to-day cooperation with the Delegation of Flanders and the Flemish Community.

During the formal portion of the diplomatic reception, Mr. Matthias De Moor, General Representative of Flanders, and Mr. Kris Put, Flemish Economic and Commercial Representative, delivered their respective speeches in English and Polish.

The Nicolaus Copernicus Academy delegation seized the opportunity to – on behalf of the Secretary General of the NCA – extend to both Representatives the sincerest wishes of prosperity in the development of a closely amicable cooperation with the Flemish Community in Poland and, crucially, to reassure the General Representative of Flanders – via Policy Officer at the Diplomatic Representation of Flanders Mr. Tijs Verstraete – of the Academy’s readiness for cooperation in the realm of science and learning.

We also extend our thanks for the invitation to the exhibition “A Common Space”, which has expressed the multivocal dialogue between Polish and Belgian artists.
