Assoc. Prof. Witold Mazurek, PhD
Professor at the Ignatianum Academy in Kraków. Prof. Witold Mazurek holds a postdoctoral degree (habilitacja) in the field of security studies and serves as a professor at the Ignatianum Academy in Kraków. He is a graduate of the Pedagogical University of Kraków, completed postgraduate studies at the University of Warsaw, and earned an MBA from the University of Social Sciences in Łódź.
He obtained his PhD from the University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Siedlce and his habilitation from the Police Academy in Szczytno. He also completed an internship at the National Security Bureau.
Prof. Mazurek began his uniformed service career after passing the officer exam at the Land Forces Military Academy in Poznań. In 2002, he joined the Prison Service, completing the Officer School of the Prison Service. From 2007 to 2015, he served as an officer in the Internal Security Agency. Since 2015, he has been working in the Military Counterintelligence Service. In 2016, he was seconded to serve as Head of the Prison Service Division at the Ministry of Justice.
In February 2022, he was awarded the Medal of the Commission of National Education for his outstanding contributions to education and upbringing. In September 2022, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Education and Science.
