Meeting of Prof. Krzysztof M. Górski with Representatives of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.

June 18, 2025

On June 10, 2025, a delegation from the Nicolaus Copernicus Academy, led by Prof. Krzysztof M. Górski, visited the Pontifical University of Santa Croce (Holy Cross) in Rome. The visit began with a meeting with university representatives—Vice-Rector Prof. Giovanni Zaccaria, Prof. Valeria Ascheri, and Prof. Rafael Martinez. During the meeting, the participants continued the preliminary agreements on joint scientific ventures initiated at last year’s meeting.

The program continued with an international scientific seminar dedicated to a multidisciplinary reflection on the relationship between science and faith. The discussion focused in particular on the views of Nicolaus Copernicus and Galileo, which continue to shape the fundamental questions and challenges in this field.

Prof. Krzysztof M. Górski presented Prof. Ascheri with the poster exhibition Nicolaus Copernicus – Pilgrimage to the Stars, intended for display at universities in Rome. He also presented the hosts with reprints of Copernicus’ works, De revolutionibus orbium coelestium and Monete cudende ratio.
