Visit of Copernicus Academy representatives to Washington (8-10.11.2023)

From 8 to 10 November 2023, representatives of the Copernican Academy, including the Secretary General, Professor Christopher Gorski, were in Washington DC for a business visit. On 8 November, they met at The Institute of World Politics with Aldona Woś, President of the Institute, and her staff Christine Balling , James Robbins and Christopher Glass. They discussed opportunities for cooperation between the Copernicus Academy and the Institute, including study tours by staff from both institutions, and international research cooperation.

The remainder of the visit involved meetings with representatives of The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, including its director, Dr Anthony Eames. Discussions concerned scholarships and exchanges of scientists, the participation of scientists from the Copernicus Academy organised by the Foundation and Institute of an international scientific conference entitled “The Reagan Century. “The Age of Reagan”, the establishment of working groups on free markets and the end of the Cold War in Poland/Eastern Europe, and support for the Reagan-John Paul II exhibition planned for the autumn of 2024. There was also a meeting that day with representatives of the Victims of Communism Museum.

On 9 November, the aforementioned representatives of the Copernican Academy attended the opening at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute of an exhibition dedicated to John Paul II.
