Prof. Górski: This is another important scientific and research centre on the academic map of Poland
During the ceremony, the Director of the Copernicus Academy Office read out a letter from Professor Krzysztof Górski to the participants of the meeting.
As the AK Secretary General emphasised in his message, the curriculum proposed as part of the College’s work aims to develop research competences and skills to support informed activity in communication processes, supporting the ability of doctoral students to be active in research teams.
“The catalogue of skills to be possessed by a graduate of the College of Medical Sciences is truly impressive, and in order not to list them all, let me limit myself to stating that when he or she leaves the walls of the university, he or she will be equipped with knowledge from various fields of science, enabling him or her to creatively identify and formulate, as well as innovatively solve complex problems or perform the tasks ahead of him or her,” Professor Górski went on to explain.
“I confidently state that this new unit on the academic map of Poland will undoubtedly be an important scientific and research centre and I wish its community every success,” added the AK Secretary General.
Research and scientific impetus for Poland and the world
In his speech, Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivode Artur Chojecki also stressed the importance of creating new scientific centres to educate young scientists at a world-class level.
– Nicolaus Copernicus spent around 40 years of his life in our region, the most creative years of his life resulting in scientific output. Here, while administering the Warmia Chapter estate in the Olsztyn castle, he also dealt with medical matters, and I think this is one of the reasons why the College of Medical Sciences of the Nicolaus Copernicus University is based here,” Chojecki pointed out.
– I am convinced that a research and scientific impulse for Poland, Europe and the world will come from here, because the Nicolaus Copernicus University and the Copernicus Academy are to combine the best of Polish science, but also the best of doctors who come from Poland and work all over the world,” the politician added.
MEP Mirosława Stachowiak-Różecka also spoke, congratulating the Nicolaus Copernicus School and Copernicus Academy on the establishment of the new College.
