On 14 February 2024, an agreement was concluded between the Copernicus Academy and the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences regarding the award of the Nicolaus Copernicus Grant under the terms of the agreement for the project ‘Fundamental properties of accreting black – hole binaries’. Amount of funding in the 3-year period: PLN 980,000.
The entities cooperating with the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences within the consortium are: Centre for Space Research, North-West University (NWU), South Africa, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen; Institut für Astronomie und Astrophysik Tübingen; Abteilungen Astronomie und Hochenergieastrophysik, Germany, Centre for Extragalactic Astronomy, department of Physics, University of Durham UK, Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Turku, Finland, EEBEE Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Spain, Faculty of Physics and Applied Informatics, University of Łódź, Poland.
