On 16 April 2024, a working meeting with Rafal Perl, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland in the Republic of Serbia, Lech Koñczak, Director of the Polish Institute, and Tijana Stojanović Zečević from the Embassy took place at the new premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Belgrade at 1a Neznanog junaka Street. The Copernicus University was represented by the Director of the Office, Witold Mazurek, PhD, Professor SGMK. During the meeting, the framework for cooperation in promoting the idea of the Copernican programme implemented by the Copernican Academy, based in Warsaw at 47A Nowogrodzka Street, was discussed. Participants expressed interest in cooperating with the Copernican Academy in promoting the legacy of Nicolaus Copernicus in Serbia.
His Excellency the Ambassador and representatives of the Polish Institute expressed their willingness to help promote the Copernican idea in Serbia. They also expressed their will to sign a cooperation agreement (MoU) with the Polish Embassy in Serbia soon.
During the meeting, Director Witold Mazurek handed over to the Ambassador an exhibition dedicated to Copernicus for display in Polish educational institutions in Serbia.
