On 26-29 September, the Copernicus Academy is taking part in a conference and fair dedicated to the internationalisation of higher education of the EAIE (European Association for International Education).
The EAIE, founded in 1989, is one of the world’s largest non-governmental organisations working in the field of education, with a particular focus on higher education. The EAIE conference and fair is held in a different European country each year.
This year, the event was organised in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and one of the institutions promoted at the Polish stand was the Copernicus Academy.

“Connecting currents”
The theme of this year’s conference, ‘Connecting Currents’, draws on Rotterdam’s maritime history and epitomises the importance of water to the city, providing economic opportunities but also – existential threats.
Rotterdam is the gateway to Europe, the place where the river meets the sea, ships reach the shore and people from different backgrounds meet. In a similar way, international education actively connects ‘currents’ of thought, areas of specialisation, disciplines and cultures. From virtual learning to climate action, multilingualism to geopolitics, the currents we follow as international educators are swift and unpredictable, exciting and important. “Connecting the currents” is about understanding the complex world around us and drawing energy and knowledge from our diverse and vibrant community, according to the organisers of EAIE Rotterdam 2023.
