– I am convinced that here in the Świętokrzyskie voivodship we are moving forward all the time, that there is a huge space for development here, in almost every aspect of our existence – emphasised the politician. – I am very pleased that this slogan: Education-Science-Development brings together so many people who are interested in our region,” added Mr Lipiec.
– It is a place for the exchange of views, a space for debate, a space where new development impulses are created, which later need to be translated into concrete actions. This is what happened after the first Development Forum, and I am convinced that this second forum will also bring concrete results, all the more so because it is focused on very important aspects of our functioning – education and science,’ said the politician. – Today, we mainly want to bet on science, on those entities that deal with our development,’ he explained.
– I am extremely grateful to the Copernicus Academy, a new corporate institution in the sphere of Polish science, which is also going out into the world, so as to gather in Poland many excellent scientists,’ emphasised the MP, passing his thanks to the Director of the Copernicus Academy Office – Witold Mazurek, Ph. – Thank you for accepting the role of strategic partner for today’s event,” added the politician.
Prime Minister Morawiecki: Science is essential to harnessing the region’s capital
During the opening of the meeting in Kielce, a letter from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, addressed to the organisers and participants of the 2nd Świętokrzyskie Development Forum, was also read out.
“This is yet another meeting organised for a region facing dynamic growth prospects. I believe that you have before you an opportunity for a wide-ranging debate on the opportunities and challenges ahead”. – wrote the Prime Minister, thanking the organisers for creating a space for discussion and exchange of experiences.
“Today’s edition is held under the slogan Education-Science-Development. This shows how far-reaching the plans you are constructing are. For we all know that in order to make full use of the region’s unique capital and ensure its multidirectional development, cooperation with the world of science is necessary,” emphasised the Prime Minister and added: “The agreement on strategic partnership signed by you with the Copernicus Academy is a step in the right direction and will bring, perhaps in the near future, effects in the form of the popularisation of scientific research on the one hand, and its practical application in economic activities on the other.”
Prof. Gorski on the activities of the Copernicus Academy
During the meeting, the director of the Copernicus Academy Research Centre, Dr Jakub Piechota, also read out a letter from Professor Krzysztof Górski.
The Secretary General of the Copernicus Academy recalled in a letter about the signing in mid-July of an agreement between the Academy and Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce and the Special Economic Zone “Starachowice” S.A.
“The ceremony was attended by Dr Tomasz Rzymkowski – Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education and Science, Mr Krzysztof Lipiec – Member of the Polish Parliament, and Mr Marcin Perz – President of the Special Economic Zone “Starachowice” S.A. I emphasised at the time that the signed agreements are only the beginning of a broader cooperation with institutions from all over Poland, which will allow us to realise the fundamental mission of the Copernicus Academy, i.e. the exchange of knowledge, research results and technological solutions that will be the fruit of our joint work”. – emphasised Prof. Górski.
“Representing Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, Prof. Jarosław Karpacz, PhD, Vice-Chancellor for Development and Finance, on the other hand, pointed out that the scope of research conducted by the universities perfectly matches the mission of the Copernicus Academy.
