Five Nobel Prize winners, 700 researchers and guests, nearly 130 accredited journalists and, above all, scientific debates at the highest level – the first World Copernican Congress was held in Toruń from 19-21 February.

The World Copernican Congress was the culmination of the celebrations of the 550th anniversary of Nicolaus Copernicus’ birth. Speeches by participants and information about the congress were covered by Polish and foreign television.
